HEARTY HUSHPUPPIES

1 cup Yelton's Best Self-Rising Corn Meal

1/2 cup Yelton's Best Self-Rising Flour

2 tablespoons cooking oil  

1 small chopped onion

1 egg, beaten 

3/4 cup buttermilk

Heat oil to 360°. Mix all ingredients together, making a thick batter. Drop by tablespoons into hot oil. Fry to a golden brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Makes 15 medium hush puppies.
